About Karin Fry

Hello – my name is Karin Fry and I love Real Estate!

I found my passion in Real Estate many years ago when I saw that houses were not only homes but also investments.  My family bought and sold real estate over many years, with values fluctuating between highs and lows, and I learned how to study the market.  I enjoy finding solutions for complex issues and bringing transactions to completion, from the first smile all the way to the closing table.  This starts with setting goals with my clients, determining the value of the home and effective marketing.

Best, Karin

International Experience

As a native of Germany, I came to the U.S. as a teenager, spent the summer with relatives and stayed for the year as a “year abroad”, finished high school, took some time to travel and later graduated from college. After my career at the World Bank in Washington, DC, I became a Realtor because it is an exciting career and there is nothing better than helping people with the investment of a home.

While working in international communities, I connected with a variety of cultures and have represented a number of International Buyers.  Their process of buying a home in the U.S. can be complicated and this is an area that I am familiar with.

Working with Seniors

One of my client couples sold their Luxury Home and moved into an assisted living community.  That was my first step in working in the arena with Seniors while resolving the needs of other family members and getting a well-loved home ready for the market.  As our population matures, there will be many more Seniors moving on to new living opportunities and I would like to help them with that. I have attained the designation of Seniors Real Estate Specialist.

Divorce and Other Life Changes

Selling and buying means moving on to a new chapter, no matter what the circumstances are.  In addition to working with Seniors, I also work closely with Divorce situations, helping couples travel through the jungle of selling or keeping their homes during or after the Divorce. Being divorced myself, I know only too well how messy that business can be. There is much patience, problem solving and hand holding involved and I enjoy helping and guiding my clients to achieve the best outcome for both sides. To better serve my clients I completed the courses to gain the designation of Collaboration Real Estate Specialist – Divorce.

Luxury and Waterfront Homes

Owning and selling luxury properties and years of living on the water and helping clients have taught me many valuable lessons. People need an expert to represent them. Not all waterfront or luxury properties are the same. There are many issues to be aware of such as tides, wetland designations, water front vs water view, conservation land restrictions, ability to remove or trim trees and many more

Interests and Hobbies

I live in a waterfront community in Stamford and have two adult children and two dogs.  My dogs Cosmo and Sadie get me up early every morning and we enjoy going for a walk before breakfast.  I enjoy gardening, cooking and sailing. There is nothing better than cooking with fresh herbs from the garden.  Oh, and I love chocolate!

If you have any questions about real estate, are thinking of buying or selling, please reach out to me.  I’ll be happy to help you and work with you any time.

“Karin spearheaded the rapid, highly efficient marketing and sale of our family home with integrity.  She applies thoughtful leadership to a sophisticated sale.  Her wide-ranging sales experience allows her to anticipate/mitigate unforeseen risks to prepare a home for the market.  At the same time, she maximizes the appeal and value of a home from the perspectives of both buyers and sellers.”

“Karin understood our needs, and went above and beyond to make the process easy, comfortable and stress-free. She explained the process very clearly and kept us informed on all developments.  She brought us an all-cash offer on the first day!  Karin made our experience better than we expected.”

Peter G., Greenwich, CT

“Karin is a go-getter!  She makes things happen.  Karin worked with us to stage our home, price it appropriately and sell it in a very short time.  Karin was right there whenever we called with a question or problem.  She has a number of contacts who were able to turn things around very quickly as we prepared to put our house on the market.  Karin was there to support us from the time we contacted her to give us a possible price to the day we closed.  We highly recommend her!”
